q/a.
Katherine stood at the doorway of the little bookshop just a street over from her mother's house, staring mindlessly into the window. There was a new display of M. Rochester's books today, along with a sign that the first would be a free gift if the rest were purchased as a set. Popular they must be, else no shopkeeper in his right mind would give away a book for free. Money must be made.

She pursed her lips. Miles always gave her the profit of her own books, though she forced a percentage back his way for the good he did for her. But that didn't make it hurt any less that the world would never know that their adored author M. Rochester was none other than his sister. Katherine sighed, turning away from the window towards the hustle and bustle of the street.

Perhaps she was hoping for a distraction.
